Yard Crews Performing HOS Relief
The Claim:
- When yard crews are instructed to perform hours of service relief outside of switching limits
- Claim 130-mile basic day per Part 7 Section 1 of the ID agreement and Yost award Art. 4 Section 5B 2.

Required Documentation:
- Snapshot of the extra board showing position and status
- Printout of job history showing Yard Crew job ID used for the service.
- Copy of train list.
- Name of Manager or Yardmaster that instructed yard crew to perform HOS relief.
REQUIRED CLAIM LANGUAGE:
Claiming a basic day due to yard switch crew (Job ID and #) ______ being used for HOS relief when there were rested and available extra board crews. I was the first out rested and available Conductor/Brakeman at (Cirq 7) _____ on (Board) _____ when the yard job was instructed to perform hours of service relief by (Yardmaster/Manager)______ on (Train ID)_____ at (Location)_____ on the (Subdivision)_____ at (Date and Time)_____. This location is outside of the switching limits.
Per the Salt Lake Yost Award Article IV Section 5B 2: Turn Around Service/Hours of Service Relief (NOTE: SALT LAKE HUB ONLY):
Except as provided in (1) above, Turnaround Service/Hours of Service Relief at both home and away from home terminals shall be handled by extra boards, if available, prior to setting up other employees. Trainmen used for this service may be used multiple trips in one tour of duty in accordance with designated collective bargaining agreement rules. Extra boards may handle this service in all directions out of a terminal that is within the Hub.

EXTRA BOARDS
Section 1. Irregular and unassigned non‑interdivisional service, including dog‑catching, shall be protected and manned by extra employees from the seniority district over which such service operates.
