Claiming a basic day account being instructed to make a side trip off my assigned run. Was called on duty for the (train ID) at (time) hrs. at (cirq 7). Upon arrival at intermediate point of Salt Lake City, was instructed per (manager/dispatcher/yardmaster and last name) to depart the Salt Lake Terminal switching limits and deliver train to the Garfield (mp). Depart MP 781.7 (switching limits) at (time) hrs. Arrive at Garfield at (time) hrs. delivered train and departed Garfield at (time) hrs. arriving back at MP 781.17 at (time) hrs.
