Union Pacific Railroad

STOP 0710
Omaha, NE 68179-0710

Dear Ms. Ruf:
The calling procedures that are in effect in South Morrill, Nebraska, RT 66 freight pool have
become unworkable for CMS and Local 257. The procedures for calling RT66 pool conductors
when there are no rested XK66 conductors has caused CMS to call employees that are 20- 30
times out in the RT66 freight pool because they are thejunior employee working in the RT66 pool
freight service. Local 257 by Local action has asked that the following changes be made in the
calling procedures for the RT66 Freight Pool:
The calling procedure now in effect for filling vacancies in the RT66 Freight Pool when there are
no rested Conductors on the XK66 conductors extra board is that CMS calls the junior rested
Conductor in the RT66 freight pool. These Conductors could be 20-30 times out. This practice will
stop.
The calling procedures in the RT66 Freight Pool whenthere are no rested Conductors on the XK66
Conductors Extra Board would be changed. When there are no rested Conductors on the XK66
conductors extra board CMS would call the first out rested Conductor in the RT66 freight Pool to
cover the assignment and that Conductor would take his assigned pool turn with him.
This would not effect the calling procedures for the XK66 conductors extra board. The XK66
conductors extra board would still cover all vacancies in the pool, work trains, yard assignments,
vacancies on the Helper Service and any extra work.
The change in the calling procedures for vacancies in the RT66 freight pool will take effect upon
signature of the parties.

Sincerely,
Jerry L. Kalbfell
General Chairman. G.C.A.

I Concur;

Lucy A. Ruf
