UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY - EASTERN DISTRICT

and

UNITED TRANSPORTATION UNION (C&T)

FIRST SENIORITY DISTRICT -- EXTRA CONDUCTORS

LAYING OFF/MISSING A CALL - OUTLYING VACANCY

Paragraph 12(b) of the August 7, 1972 Freight Conductors I Extra Board Agreement between UPRR and the UTU(C&T) is hereby modified for the First Seniority District as follows:

"12(b) (1) When laying off or missing call for an outlying vacancy, the extra conductor will be required to report at the outlying point without deadhead pay in either direction. If the outlying vacancy no longer exists or has been filled under Rule 44(a)(1), the extra conductor will be placed last out.

12(b) (2) The provisions of Section 12(b) (1) of this Agreement shall apply to an extra conductor who lays off within 8 hours prior to call, unless a conductor I s vacancy in other than an outlying assignment for which the extra conductor would have been called, develops prior to call time for the outlying vacancy.

This modification will become effective February 1 , 1989, and will terminate ten (10) days notice is served by either party."

LAYING OFF/MISSING A CALL - OUTLYING VACANCY

IT IS AGREED:

The following provisions shall apply on the First Seniority District when an employe who stands for service as an extra brakeman lays off or misses a call for an outlying vacancy. .

1. An extra brakeman standing for a temporary vacancy at an outlying point who lays off on call or is not available for call will be sent to the outlying point when reporting for service if the vacancy still exists.

2. The provisions of Section 1 of this Agreement shall apply to an extra brakeman who lays off within 8 hours prior to call. unless a brakeman's vacancy in other than an outlying assignment for which the extra brakeman would have been called. develops prior to call time for the
outlying vacancy.

This Agreement shall be effective February 1, 1989. and will terminate ten (10) days after service of written notice by either party.
