ZONE 100-BASIC AGREEMENT
Description: EM-701 A G R E E MEN T between UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY-EASTERN DISTRICT and UNITED TRANSPORTATION UNION (C)&(T) IT IS AGREED: (a) The following nine seniority districts shall be combined into one seniority district and the seniority rights of employes holding seniority on these nine seniority districts shall be consolidated with one seniority group but with the present seniority rights of each employe preserved unto him: (1) Seniority District 1 - Omaha to Grand Island and branches, including Beatrice. (2) Seniority District 2 - Grand Island to North Platte and branches, to but not including Hastings. (3) Seniority District 3 - North Platte to Sidney and North Platte branch, including Yoder and South Torrington. (4) Seniority District 4 - Sidney to Cheyenne, North Platte Cut-off to Gering and South Torrington. (5) Seniority District 9 - Kansas City to Junction City and branches to but not including Beatrice. (6) Seniority District 10 - Junction City to Ellis and branches to Plainville. (7) Seniority District 11 - St. Joseph to Marysville and Marysville to Grand Island and/or Hastings. (8) Nebraska Division Yards - Council Bluffs/Omaha to Cheyenne (not including Cheyenne Yard but including Beatrice Yard.) (9) Kansas Division Yards Entire Division, including Marysville Yard. This new seniority district shall be known as Seniority Zone 100. (b) Each employe having a seniority date on anyone of the nine involved seniority districts on the effective date of this Agreement shall be accorded a seniority date and seniority ranking on the new Seniority Zone 100 roster in the order of the employe's present seniority--the employe having the greatest seniority shall be No. 1 on the new roster, the employe with the next .greatest seniority shall be No.2, and so on--until all employes have been placed on the new roster. (c) The new roster, in addition to the new seniority ranking, shall indicate each employe's prior rights seniority district. Prior rights seniority shall. be superior to seniority established pursuant to this Agreement. (d) Employes achieving seniority on Seniority Zone 100 after the effective date of this Agreement shall have rights only on Seniority Zone 100 and shall have no prior rights on any specific former seniority district. (e) On and after the effective date of this Agreement, an employe at any point in the territory of Seniority Zone 100 may transfer to any other point in the territory of Seniority Zone 100 in accordance with applicable schedule rules. (1) The Carrier cannot require a prior rights employe to transfer to any point outside the employe's prior rights seniority districts. (2) Non-prior-rights employes will be required to exercise seniority to available assignments within Seniority Zone 100 in accordance with applicable schedule rules. (f) The Company shall not be penalized in any manner or assume any expense whatsoever incident to the exercise of seniority of employes provided for in Paragraph (e), above. (g) Employes who are furloughed and who are receiving a protection allowance may be required by the Carrier to report for service at any point designated by the Company within the employe's prior rights seniority districts. Failure of the employe to report for service at the designated point within seven (7) days after notification shall constitute automatic forfeiture by the employe of all protection rights and allowance. (h) This Agreement shall be effective __________, 1984, and shall continue in effect thereafter subject to the provisions of the Railway Labor Act, as amended.
