Dear Sir:
This refers to agreement dated March 1, 1963 disposing of the crew consist issue.
It is understood that in the event it becomes necessary to re-establish positions which have been reduced under the provisions of the March 1, 1968 agreement for protected employes who would otherwise be furloughed, such re-establishment will be accomplished on the basis of Section 8 of the craw consist agreement dated March 1, 1968 between Assistants to Vice President F. C. Wood and K. B. Beckley, Union Pacific Railroad Company,
and General Chairman H. S. Wright, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, reading:
"Section 8. When it becomes necessary to reestablish positions which have been reduced under the provisions of this agreement to provide employment for protected employes who would otherwise be furloughed, such reestablishment will be accomplished in the following manner:
"The number of available reduced positions necessary to provide employment for the same number of protected employes who would otherwise be furloughed shall be bulletined in accordance with bulletin rules of the schedule agreements, and such bulletined positions shall be filled in accordance with schedule rules the same as any other vacant position while under bulletin.
"The protected employes who would otherwise be furloughed shall then be given an opportunity to place themselves on working lists in line with their seniority and requirements of the service. "
