ITEM 92 A-3: Exercising seniority to open yards
Description: ITEM - 92(a-3) UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY Omaha, Nebraska August 15, 1969. J. S. Ferryman, General Chairman Dear Sir: This refers to your letter of March 5, 1969 about application of the Dual Rights Agreement, which was discussed with you in conference on May 13, 1969. Our discussion centered upon the case of a dual rights man who held yard rights on the Nebraska Division and road rights on the Third Seniority District, North Platte-Sidney. He was working as a yardman in the Council Bluffs yard, transferred to road service on the Third District, and, when reduced from road service attempted to place himself in the North Platte yard. He was not permitted to do this, but was required to return to the Council Bluffs yard. It was agreed in conference that in the future, similarly situated employes will be permitted to exercise their seniroity (sic) in any open yard where they hold yardmen's seniority. Yours truly, /s/ J. H. Kenny ACCEPTED: /s/ J. S. Ferryman General Chairman, UTU(T) (A-92a-3-1)
