Rule 46: Deadheading- Laying Off
| Description: RULE 46. LAYING OFF - DEADHEADING. When a conductor or brakeman lays off and his regular crew does not return to home terminal within 72 hours from the time his crew reported for duty, he will be permitted to deadhead to the crew's tie up point and resume his position at the end of the shift or trip. Deadheading involved in the application of this rule will not be paid for. |
